Timothy Vollmer is an Information Technology Policy Analyst for the American Library Association Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP) in Washington, D.C.

Timothy is an April 2008 Master of Science in Information graduate of the University of Michigan School of Information, with a focus on technology, law and policy. He was a member of the first class to complete the Information Policy specialization at the School of Information.

He was a research investigator for the Open.Michigan Open Educational Resource initiative and has helped develop a student-centric OCW publishing pilot there. Timothy worked as a community and business development assistant for Creative Commons from September 2007 - May 2008. He was a Community + Media Development intern for Creative Commons from June - August 2007.

Timothy studied sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also helped establish Underground Catering, a farm-to-table food collective and catering business that supports local farmers, sustainable agriculture and community food issues. Timothy is a blog contributor here and at Creative Commons.
